crazy-making to me that being remake-skeptical is seen as a chud "gatekeeper" stance. how did we get to the point where so many people are comfortable assuming you're a reactionary because you respect old games and aren't sympathetic to companies trying to sell you new shovelware "improvements"

Yesterday I managed to get the 1cc in Xeno Crisis Easy, now I'm working on learning hard. The last mission is an actual nightmare, however playing on hard made me appreciate the game more. The pacing is tighter and decisions matter much more which makes the mechanics really shine. Great game.

I know this is a really cynical stance and in a sense I don't like to treat art this way, but at this point I just don't care about new releases be it aaa or indie. I just feel people aren't making games I'm interested in. The design paradigms have changed so much that I just don't enjoy new stuff.
