Okay, I managed to finish a full romance novel in, like, just about 24 hours. Something I haven't done since maybe high school. I'm utterly fascinated by this style of "easy read" prose, because it feels very close to how one would construct barks and informative dialogue for video games.

a) I have no faith this will be any good at all and it's a slap in the face to not have any of the games' writers but also b) Baldur's Gate did not start with 3, nor did it start with Larian, and believe it or not, 1 & 2 were just as successful.
