A year or two ago, I had a photoshoot with beloved Luther Hughes at a park near my then Brooklyn apartment. We took my favorite shot I’d ever taken. Today, that photo is published as apart of Luther’s spread in Seattle Magazine for their tribute to Luther for their “Most Influential” honors.

I was commissioned by Joshua Bennett for a painting to be presented at Harvard (the next day lol). He needed a painting that reflected the scene in The Souls of Black Folk when “kindergarten aged W.E.B. Du Bois ascended beyond the Veil for the first time.” Thus, my painting, “Above the Veil.” (1/2)
