This used to be the complaint about 2nd person (&which I love and you will pry it from my cold dead hands) but seeing this applied to 1st person, which is the mode in which most LITERARY fiction is written in these days... feels pretty bewildering

Fighting classism in literature is not abt talking down to people &forcing the same writing style on everyvstory, it's abt making sure everyone has the tools to understand/create aesthetically ambitious* art *I prefer this term to "good art" as good/bad are often mediated &change throughout history

Sometimes I'd see people claiming 'windowpane prose' (simple, no metaphors, 'doesn't get in the way') is good because it makes a book more accessible. I disagree, good prose is actually very easy to read. What a lot of people seem to believe is that you should write for people who hate reading.

Once again, AI is not an information technology, it's a symptom of a labour crisis & its worsening. Like email, online platforms, etc, it both demonstrates & increases the pressure on workers to work beyond their capacity, w/o adequate pay & thus hasten their own redundancy.
