AI has norhing to do w intelligence. It stands for All-In, complete capture, the panopticon, colonial dream of total ownership of everything converted to data, the forced singularity in which we cannot function without the machine. Every time you don't use it, you resist totalitarianism.

By the way, I've started running a book club (another one!) on "difficult" literature and these are our two first books. The idea is to end up reading Ulysses next June. Yes, it's a grift to get all my friends to read Ulysses

This. Instead of helping selfpub authors (like the gurus said it would) AI is ruining chances for writers who might have been scammed by designers who swore it was all human made. At this point not everyone have the tools/literacy to spot it & readers won't touch you if you have been connected to AI

Magazines with submission guidelines where they come down so hard on one tense/pov/syntax or grammar model fascinate me. A tense seems like such a wide thing to "outlaw". I for one, find the anglosphere's insistence that the past tense sounds "more literary" very jarring

Actually a good illustration of how there is no liberal narrative anymore--it's vestigial, absorbed into the fascist narrative because liberal imperialism tilted the scales toward the nazis. Now there are liberals celebrating a politician who supports Trump & Netanyahu because 'democracy'.
