I always get in trouble for saying this but 90% of the use of "Not like other girls" as derogatory is simply a way to discipline gender non confirming girls into being ashamed for rejecting cissexist pressures to idolize femininity. That's the actual scandal, to me. Well, one of them. Major publishers picking up already moderately successful indie works or even fanfics, and then expecting not to have to do any actual publishing... that's bad and nobody should put up with it.

No advice works for every1 but trying out different things helps. Me I never write in chronological order ie I don't write the 1st scene of a story then the 2nd then the 3rd... I write whatever I want to write at that moment, it might be scene 27 &then have fun connecting stuff &filling in the gaps
