Has anyone ever read a book where the main character was called a nickname from other POVs but from their POV they used their proper name? Is that too confusing? Has any author gotten away with that?

How do I tell the readers who loved my first three books because they’re cute and sweet (and only sometimes terrifying) that my fourth one is so terrifying my editors had to ask me four times to keep dialing back the intensity in the last few chapters? It’s a dark thriller about unconditional love.

Just spent 2 hrs reading more of "The Only Light Left Burning" by @erikjbrown.bsky.social I loved the first book and got sidetracked months ago but got back to reading this sequel. I really do love it. 65% through Kindle says. First book is called "All That's Left in the World".

I used to go to this brunch place in Philly where they had a cocktail called the Hotel Lobby that was cold brew, bourbon, simple syrup, and Baileys. I asked for the cold brew and bourbon and a dash of half and half and the bartenders and I called it a Hotel Mezzanine. Delicious combo.
