Remember, this is how they respond to peaceful protests. Remember that when they indict our people. They do this to us and call us violent. They did this to a crowd without warning, without a dispersal order even. This video didn't even capture the flash bangs they deployed first.

Outside of the St Paul courthouse, protesters are fighting with agents. The feds are now charging 15 people with impeding immigration enforcement in Minneapolis- under the guise of "antifa". As an aside- in LA they have failed to obtain guilty verdicts in most cases brought against protesters.

I would love* to hear the reasoning why anyone thinks paying $91 for a thing you don't actually own, AND that expires after being used 26 times, is fair and reasonable. If this was YOUR money, would you pay that? *no I wouldn't. Because there is no reasoning.

HEA discourse again? Groundbreaking. Every few months, someone discovers that romance novels end happily and mistakes genre convention for creative failure. Just because you don’t understand the system doesn’t mean the system is shallow.

I think it's worth noting that this was something many BIPoC communicators and activist in tech circles spoke up about and were pushed aside and is a repeating pattern in AI and automated systems. A System carries the biases of it's creator and can not be divorced of this.

Of course, corruption is not exceptional or unheard of, but the normalization of corruption *as* governance, so that the two concepts become indistinguishable, is crucial to the fascist project. People have already begun to shrug off Trump's manipulation and extraction as par for the course.

Of all the harm this administration has done to US science, today's proposed changes to the way federal grants are awarded and administered is the most damaging yet. The text of the federal register document is impenetrably tedious by design, so here's an excellent summary of what it says.

In general, the focus on what professors do in the classroom is wrong. The focus should be on how the administrators run schools. Administrations hiring more fulltime faculty and reducing class sizes would go much farther to addressing the problem than any ideas about "engaging assignments"

Part of why I am insistent that public libraries must be expanded is because they can offer us a foundation for unleashing creativity and for nurturing imagination. This is an affirmative project at a time when we desperately need to be FOR things and not just against them.
