I’ve got the new episode of #ThePitt waiting for me, but if I watch it now then I have to wait 7 whole days for next week’s episode. If ever a show was created to be binged, it’s The Pitt, and the fact that they’re not giving it to us all at once should be punishable under law.

List help! I created my first list, of people who don't (or rarely) post about politics, so I can look at that when I'm overwhelmed by the awfulness. However, the list seems to show all their replies to people who DO post about politics, so I'm still seeing it. Is there a way to not see replies?

Just watched: Sentimental Value (2025). This year’s Award Movies are soooo much better than last year. I’ve enjoyed every one of them so far, including this, which is a quiet yet compelling character study of father-daughter and sister relationships.

NYE film #2: That Christmas (2024) What a wonderful, heartwarming film. Glad I got it watched before Christmas time is over!

NYE film #1: One Battle After Another Taking a dinner break halfway. I’m enjoying it, but I honestly don’t see why there’s still 1hr15 left. Something fucking special had better happen in the latter half to make this long runtime worth it. Movies very rarely need to be over two hours.

Went out, picked up a small sushi for dinner (to eat with my grilled seabass), and got tempted by a biscoff cheesecake (pictured). In my opinion, NYE is the absolute worst night to go anywhere, so I shall be staying home, eating my tasty treats, and binging movies. Mmmm.

This is a great example of some of the nonsense that bigots do--and if you think about it, making up things about an outgroup to be disgusted and enraged about is *really common* among bigots. Ever wonder why they do that? Feed each other made up BS about people instead of talking about realities?

Christmas Eve movie #2: In the Good Old Summertime (1949) Despite the summery name, the majority of this musical remake of “The Shop Around the Corner” takes place in the lead up to Christmas. One of my favourite Judy Garland films, it also features Buster Keaton in one of his few speaking roles.

I’m only in one choir at the moment, but even when I was in two, neither of them did traditional Christmas carols. And I miss singing the alto harmonies (and listening to the descants) of Christmas carols so, so much. It’s so steeped in nostalgia for me. School choir carol service was the BEST.

Can anyone recommend a board/card game for movie lovers? Something where it’s not all really easy basic questions, like who played Iron Man. Just something a bit meatier! I don’t mind if it’s trivia questions or having to speed name things, or lots of different sections. Just not too easy!

Dear @rianjohnson.bsky.social, for the next Benoit Blanc film, please can we have Blanc solving a murder in a theatre? This would be a great way to show us more of his evident love of musical theatre (so delightful!), and the theatre world is always a fascinating and fun setting!

Time to watch Hallmark’s magnum opus of Christmas films. Seriously, if you know of one better than A Biltmore Christmas, please tell me.

When I was 9, my sister (13) went to the cinema with her friends and saw The Princess Bride. She couldn’t stop talking about how great it was, but since she was also crushing hard on Cary Elwes, which 9-yo me didn’t understand, but as I grew older I Very Much Understood, I didn’t pay much attention.

Wake Up Dead Man is just as well-made and well-plotted as the other two films, and is a very compelling and enjoyable watch. It’s just not quite as quirky and delightful, which is down to the core plot being about horrible fake Christians, who are not pleasant to watch. Still good though!

Unbelievable horrible news about Rob Reiner. There are no words. RIP, Rob. Thank you for one of my favourite films.
