It’s here!! I can’t believe I had the good fortune to get to write an introductory #linguistics textbook with two of my favorite people. I’m very proud of this book and wish I could teach with it—but I hope that other folks will let me live vicariously through them!

While that is stated as rumor, the graph tells it all. #NSF has awarded only 613 grants this fiscal year. That's compared to almost 3,000 by this point in FY '24. Congress and the courts both moved hard against this, but it's irrelevant. The White House has the "power of the purse" now. 3/x
