I'm setting out my stall for 2025. I'm actively looking for freelance opportunities around: 🎶 writing music to picture; 🎧 providing production services for audio podcasters; 🎸 music collaborations. If you'd like to have a virtual cuppa and a chat it would be wonderful to say hello.

It's a worry, but this might be the way we survive for a while. If you value a creator (or magazine) subscribe to them. You're helping to make them uncancellable and to keep their voice in the world. Anything dependent on advertising is vulnerable. (No Patreon here, go subscribe to someone you like)

Album update: I *think* I’ve settled on the track order for the new album. The songs are complete structurally, I just need to crack on with finishing the tracking. The cover design is a work in progress (this is the kind of thing I have in mind for the back)…

I genuinely had no idea, before chatting with her, that courtroom artists are not actually allowed to sketch inside the courtroom in Britain. If they do, it's contempt. They also aren't guaranteed a seat in the courtroom, and their pics are often hurriedly drawn from memory on the kerb outside...

Etymology of the day: spiders were once known as ‘attercops’, or ‘poison-heads’, because it was believed most spiders were venomous. The ‘cop’ element became the ‘cob’ in ‘cobweb’.
