Kelmscott Manor, William Morris's home on the Thames in Oxfordshire. It's been recently restored, and is looking stunning inside and out. A wonderful garden on a hot day, complete with croquet.

Thames path near Buscot. Abundant birds - sparrow, swift, swallow, goldfinch, greenfinch, starling, blackbird, robin, wren, jackdaw, rook, crow, chiffchaff, collared dove, wood pigeon, red kite, reed bunting, reed warbler, cetty's warbler, cormorant, swan, and a variety of ducks and geese.

A very good poem. Do read it. Though maybe not just before bed. The Deposition of Harry Goodsir, Assistant Surgeon ~ Angus Barrett (HMS Erebus, September 1846) I have stopped keeping the log. What is there left to measure, the leagues of ice before us, the sky with nothing left to tell us? ...

On 19th May 1845, HMS Erebus & HMS Terror sailed from Greenhithe in Kent. They would stop at Orkney before heading towards Greenland on their way to the unknown. They were last sighted by Europeans in Baffin Bay in July 1845… and then they were gone. This poem very nearly brings them back.

Taking place now in College we have: - Jamie Susskind giving the Calleva lecture on the challenges to freedom and democracy of AI; - sung Eucharist for Ascension Day; - a rehearsal for a garden production of Jerusalem; - folk singing and dancing with a scratch ceilidh band in the Bat Willow Meadow.
