There's a back story here. Exactly a year ago, Lord H attended Magdalen for a gaudy (reunion), on the very day baby Ozzy was diagnosed with FIP. I was beside myself - until recently, FIP was fatal. William was incredibly comforting and supportive. Ozzy remembers. And so do I.

I knew Roy for the brief period when he was the chair of the Pension Law Review Committee and I was its secretary - from which came the Pensions Act 1995 and a complete reshaping of the legal framework in the aftermath of Maxwell.

Roy Goode’s Commercial Law was as readable and elegant as it was technically outstanding. An exemplar of a law book. A sad loss.
