This policy is much more problematic for intersex athletes. They were assigned female at birth, socialized as women, and have female genitalia but will be classified as male. They're entire sports careers will be ruined for this cruel eugenicist project of sex purity.

There are going to be a lot of intersex cis women, especially from the global south, who will be ruled ineligible and then subjected to terrible discrimination or worse in their home countries. Prior sex testing regimes have resulted in suicides and ruined lives.

The IOC has announced a trans and intersex athlete ban requiring an invasive SRY genetic test for female athletes. In the 20+ years trans women were eligible, only one ever competed and none ever medaled. This is solving for a problem that doesn't exist. www.nbcnews.com/sports/olymp...
