I spent my weekend carrying out some more habitat management work for Duke of Burgundy in Pickering Woods, with volunteers from @bcyorkshire.bsky.social @northyorkmoors.org.uk and Pickering Env. Group. We coppiced a strip of approx. 35m x 5m, opening up an area with lots of Primrose coming through.

Had a great day out with @bcyorkshire.bsky.social coppicing Hazel at a Duke of Burgundy site nr Hawnby. There was lots of Primrose coming through underneath, and lots of it with feeding damage from Duke larvae. @savebutterflies.bsky.social @northyorkmoors.org.uk

Sharp-tailed Bee in my Middlesbrough garden earlier today, nectaring on Wild Marjoram. Both Coelioxys elongata and C. inermis have been recorded on Teesside, so it's likely to be either of these species.
