Something you could do here is ALSO reach out to your state-level representatives if you live in one of the 13 states with a Freedom to Read Bill. Tell them what HR 7661 would mean for constituents in their state and the bill and tell them to pressure their federal colleagues to veto this bill.

Radical archiving involves collecting and preserving works created by historically marginalized groups. During the Trump era, the truth is marginalized. A grassroots movement is working to restore public access to critical data. We librarians just need to know where to look to find the truth.

Might be a good time to remember that each of us is profoundly annoying to someone.

I can't believe I had to earn a Master's degree and have 3+ years experience to be an entry-level librarian with near zero responsibility and *these* people are in the federal government.
