So here's a problem I think a lot of people in indie/small studio game development have. You need some kind of version control and you need to back up your code somewhere offsite. If you use Perforce you do the Perforce thing, but lots of shops use Git.

Finally got everything fixed in this latest update to my Unreal Engine plugin project. Now I need to test and make sure the priority system works! Once that's done, the goal is... 1. Fire effects relative to the position of a joint 2. Create an AnimNotifyState 3. Fire an Actor (e.g. magic missiles)

So I'm playing Slime Rancher 2 and I'm trying to figure out how to get to the new area in Grey Labyrinth (no not the obvious one, the one in the Northeast corner of the map), and there is this water spout found off the new path... and it just does not shoot water. I am definitely missing something.

__ExternalActors__ and __ExternalObjects__ folders in Unreal Engine sure took me by surprise, I wish these folders were documented better... Unless I'm mistaken and there is thorough documentation and I simply haven't found it yet. Wish there was a way to pre-empt all these "gotchas" in the docs.

Possible solution to the missing component in the AnimPreviewWindow's Actor: add the component via code in the Notify function. Never added a Component to an Actor from a remote event, but it's not in shipping code so if it works I'll keep it! I just worry about a memory leak in the editor!

I feel as though Mario Kart World was a misfire, or perhaps undercooked. Which is to say, Grand Prix is okay, Knockout Tour is great, and Free Roam is empty. There is a lot of exciting stuff in there, just not enough to fill an open world title. Also, exploration is difficult in a kart...

Btw, I had no idea there were already AnimNotifies to fire Niagara and Sound Effects... I should have expected it, though. But the effects can't be updated or changed based on external logic. Mine can. Also mine use a single AnimNotify for many sounds and particle systems. :)

I'll plug in the Animation Montage and slots to the AnimBP and Actor's BP, then see if my particle effects still fire from my anim notify. With any luck it'll work, but this means the Preview In Editor option does not guarantee the effects will fire at runtime. #UnrealEngine

I was for a trivial solution to swap Actors in an #UnrealEngine animation preview window. But now it seems incredibly nontrivial. I have an AnimNotify that sends data to a Component in my default Actor to fire effects. That Actor won't appear in the preview by default, so I have to swap!
