It was lovely reuniting with Uyghur HRD Yalkun Uluyol @yalkun.bsky.social for a #HRC60 side event in Geneva, alongside my trusted colleague Orsolya Toth. Yalkun's father, Memet Yaqup, was wrongfully imprisoned for 16 years by the Chinese government for committing no recognizable crime.

On April 15, 27-year-old Mei Shilin (梅世林) put up three pro-democracy banners on an overpass in China’s southwestern Sichuan province. Authorities reportedly detained Mei soon afterward, and his current whereabouts are unknown.
