My name is Haines
An article on how the expression "My name is Haines" supposedly originated with an encounter between Thomas Jefferson and a man named Haines.

Seems like a ton of bands held back releases for

Friday. Smart thinking on their part, but the email notifications are overwhelming.

Speaking as someone raised in and well-travelled to the best pizza areas of the US (New York City, northern NJ, an Chicago)... I have never once seen a picture of an appetizing pizza posted to this app. Not a one.

Very weak
@bandcamp.com
Friday, rescued only by stuff I missed last week (Alan Vega) and my wishlist (Planet B). 2026 has been a real disappointment for new releases so far. VERY little is catching my attention.

I wish apps would just let me sit down and get work done, instead of needing to click away 23 popups about their new features that I never asked for and I don't want or need.

buy... only one more SINE album to go, then I've caught up with all of my planned purchases, which means it's time to start going in on my wishlist again...

Friday of the year! Pretty small buy here, not much new came out this week, but using this as a chance to catchup on the SINE back catalog, plus I need to re-rip a ton of CDs that I ripped poorly over the last year or so, and give them a new listen.

Just watched the new Knives Out and I think it's really important you know that the scene in the Seminary's Gym is filmed in the same place Rick Astley filmed the music video for Never Gonna Give You Up. I saw the window tracery and immediately made my friends pause the film so I could tell them.

Once again, Robert Reich proving that he has no clue what he's talking about when it comes to money. Wealth concentration is *extremely* inevitable because capital is needed to build capital. Getting "richer" is exponentially easier than getting "rich".

It's very apparent that "board games" can mean very different things to different people when one game feels the need to warn you that it can take up to 30 minutes to play, while another prides itself on being "quick playing" on the basis that a minimal two-player game should only take 2 to 3 hours.

They were *deliberately designed* to not be democratic institutions. The Founding Fathers didn't want a "democracy" they were mad that they were mostly locked out of the English nobility because of who their fathers were and just wanted that for themselves. Plain and simple.

At some point,
@jamellebouie.net
will realize just how morally bankrupt "the press" is, and that's why no one trusts or believes it anymore. But he's too deep in this system to see it.

"IF" they were tried and convicted. Look, cops can't just kick my door in and shoot me because IF I was tried and convicted of some horrific crime I'd get the death penalty, they need DUE PROCESS.

Today 31 years ago the PS1 was released. In honor of Sony Playstation 1's birthday lets unironically celebrate by rewitnessing the greatest (in my opinion) bit of voice acting speech on the platform from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.
