It's really disturbing how in the mid 2010s there were several regularly active trans journalists in the British mainstream press and presently there's like maybe 2 who occasionally get some token comment somewhere when someone's given us a kicking.

draft schools guidance uses the cass review phrase 'living in stealth' - did we ever find an origin of this that wasn't just a portmanteau of 'stealth' and 'living in sin'?

the draft schools guidance leaves a lot of space for the ROGD/social contagion model. Thinking especially of this line: "the first step when considering a child’s request for support with social transition will be to consider what is in the best interests of the child and other children'

I've said this before, but it makes me insane that in an age of human civilization when the ultra-rich have hoarded over half of all wealth, the go-to visual shorthand for depictions of gluttony is still "fat"

The UK version of “Project 2025” by the Reform party includes a British ICE, a concentration camp for 24,000 people, mass surveillance and withdrawing from refugee, anti-torture and anti-trafficking conventions. It’s on their website. That’s how comfortable fascists are in the UK today.

[CN: Account of child abuse, conversion therapy] This is a really excellent and very necessary intervention from a survivor of gender identity conversion efforts who did actually go on to detransition, worth reading to understand the fundamental abusiveness of these practices if you don't already.

I keep seeing these videos by trans guys about how trans women are dominating trans advocacy because of socialisation and honestly it's a discredit to the numerous trans men who are involved daily in pragmatic community rooted activism every day without getting involved in promoting transmisogyny.

There are lots of more insidious forms where they don't immediately confront clients that way but wait a few weeks to foster trust, but I think it's important to lay out clearly where the red lines are - gaslighting, being made to distrust your own feelings, being disrespected in your experiences.

The frequent desire to try and contrasts trans people's oppression with racialised abuse reinforces a white centric trans advocacy and at the same time leads us away from understanding that govt racism helps strengthen the risk of govt transphobia and vice versa.

People saying Trump is dying or possibly dead, but I for one would urge caution, because it is quite possible a second healtbar will appear as he enters his second phase and a gargantuan centipede will burst forth from his torso, so be careful of his new sweep attacks and toxic buildup from bites.
