Here's the NYT just normalizing the US somehow running Venezuela as if that was a proper thing to be doing. There are just some challenges to be overcome, I guess.

Photo by Pierre Lavie. Yes this is me. And I threw my Leica. It landed on the bass plate with hardly a scratch. Another Photographer grabbed it along with my phone and I was able to track him later. I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.

I agree that we ought to use persuasion to bring people nearer to our political purposes; I think that making every single Republican a social and professional pariah for the rest of their lives would be very persuasive when it comes to people weighing the cost/benefit of aligning with fascism.

He will rein in ICE "At a time and place of his choosing."🤡 ICE shot an unarmed woman in the head, threatened more with "not learning the lesson," added 1,000 agents to Minneapolis, and are now going door to door... and the people you elected to protect you from them? Want to give them more cash.

Note that the fascist is not using the pepper spray for crowd control. He is entering a vehicle unimpeded to depart. He is simply using the pepper spray to physically punish an unarmed citizen he doesn't like.

Good, direct, unequivocal messaging here. Also: to Trumpists, lying is a patriotic sacrament. Trumpists lie because they believe, as a tenet of Trumpism, that the people they hate deserve to be lied to and that it’s for the best for the few people they don’t hate today.

I think everyone who read the Jack Smith deposition but didn’t watch the video is missing out. The Republicans were just so pathetic (e.g., Jim Jordan asking about overly-long filings and the focus on court schedules). You can tell at points they seem to realize just how pathetic they are.
