So cool! I worked on decoding cog states from rsFC (task data) as a postbacc at NIMH, and I wrote my NSF GRFP on extending those methods to decode thoughts from resting state fMRI data. Super cool to see that field evolving and getting closer to that goal!

Great to see this analysis of both scientific accuracy but also cost effectiveness. Joint consideration is key is an age where AI will be very important but unable to account for "garbage in, garbage out" big data, and these issues are more important than ever amid threats to scientific funding.

This might be a great move by NIH! However, like the new ban on animal-only research, the implementation details will determine if it helps or hurts. 1. Over the past four months I've talked with many foundation directors about science philanthropy during Trump 2.0. Two things come to the fore every time. i) The most important they can do is maintain the pipeline of talent ii) With the federal govt pulling out, ROI is higher now than ever.

My med school textbook says stimulants like Ritalin treat hyperactivity by “stimulating” the brain’s attention and cognitive control systems. We studied children taking stimulants in the ABCD Study, and the largest differences were actually in arousal and reward networks! Check out our preprint!
