it works, the new renderer is bug free! to catch folks up on the experiment, this is a zero polygon renderer which uses a heightmap raycaster similar to comanche. it's a single pass with terrain + n bookended pairs of layered geometry, so you can do overlaps.

if you turn, and catch it before the interlacing has stabilized, the clouds are nubbly and organic. i realize you could do this in a temporally coherent way by fudging ray angles...
