Today marks 9 years of sober living. A doctor I saw back in 2018 mentioned that if I hadn't stopped drinking when I did, I wouldn't have been alive to attend that appointment. I share this not to impress anyone, but because I am genuinely impressed with my journey and the progress I've made.

Merry Christmas yesterday, folks. I bought myself a Masterclass subscription for Christmas, so I'm listening to a series of lectures by Joyce Carol Oates on short story writing. Seems like a good way to end the year.

Tomorrow, my working year ends, and I've decided that so does my social media year. I need to touch grass - literally. I plan on spending my holidays doing yardwork, housework, and fixing up the pool area. Reading, working on my new novel, and just recharging my batteries.
