I recently looked at over 850K social accounts connected to Buffer to see which platforms are seeing the most growth (in terms of follower counts). LinkedIn is leading the pack with a median annualized growth rate of around 18%, and Facebook is at 0%, with only 43% of accounts showing any growth.

I got to chat with the incredible @rose.bsky.team this week and it was an absolute delight! 🦋🌹 My most important takeaway (apart from all the great stuff below)? It's pronounced "at" protocol. Like "Where on the internet are you at?" Wordplay, even? I could not love this platform more.

Buffer's MRR in 2024.. 🏒

Bluesky has officially overtaken Threads as the 6th most popular platform on Buffer, and it's on track to eclipse TikTok in the next week or so.

People are now connecting more Bluesky accounts to Buffer than Threads or Mastodon accounts

Bluesky is really taking off for Buffer users. It's on track to overtake Threads in terms of active users within a few months.

As a marketer, I'm keeping an eye on alternatives to X. We have a ton of interesting data about platform adoption at Buffer. We introduced our Mastodon integration last year, followed by Threads in June and Bluesky in July. Bluesky growing the fastest at the moment. h/t @julheimer.bsky.social
