Get off the apps. Stop watching the news. Read books. Walk / ride. Don’t drink as much (if you’re a drinker). Write or paint or sing, whatever your creative exploits were as a kid. Reconnect with your inner humanity. This is what worked for me. I’ve been writing again. I wrote so much this week.

I just finished writing my first book. For real. It’s my first book by just me, no co-authors. It’s a children’s story, and it will be illustrated (thankfully not by me). The longest book I’ve worked on clocked in at almost 1,000 pages. With pictures, this one will be about 80.
