The only viable solution to these dangerous NHS waits is to put bed capacity back to what it was in 2010. If you shrink your health service as demands for it increases then it is not surprising people have to wait longer. It’s not rocket science.

Today the UK government recommended a pay increase of 2.8% for nursing staff in 2025/26, as little as £2 extra a day. This is deeply offensive, detrimental to patients & contradictory to hopes of rebuilding the NHS. We are calling for direct negotiations on pay - our full response:
