I had two conferences to choose from this weekend, @fosdem.org and @bilbostack.com. Mochi is not allowed at FOSDEM, unfortunately, but she is allowed at Bilbostack (in Euskalduna centre!), so I had to choose Bilbo 🥹🐶🐾

In my last couple of "easy" runs (easy = conversational pace, there's nothing easy about running IMHO 🤣), I listened to this new podcast I discovered called "impolyglot | French Podcast, by Lionel Junior", to keep my French active. I found it pretty good, would love to find a German equivalent!

France announced today it’s phasing out Teams, Zoom, etc. to be replaced with a French/European solution called Visio. The data is hosted on Outscale. Transcripts and subtitles are also handled by French providers. The target is set on 2027 for government agencies.

I signed up for a full marathon in 2026 😅😱 Madrid's, which is quite hilly and miserable 🤣 I've run only one marathon, Valencia in 2022, and I thought I'd never do it again because it was so hard, but I've mostly forgotten the pain now 😆 I started a training plan for it 7 weeks ago(23 weeks total) 💪🏻

This was a pretty good year in sport/running for me 🎉🏃🏻‍♀️ the first time I followed a training plan to get faster! I really embraced being uncomfortable and loved the discipline of it 💪🏻🥰 PBed half marathon but didn't achieve my other fitness goals: 2 strict pull-ups and full front splits. For 2026!

My self-gift for Christmas this year was the clear/blank keyboard for my framework laptop frame.work/es/en/produc... I got the whole input kit because I also switched to ANSI from ISO. It looks so cool! I'm not as good at typing on it as in a regular labeled keyboard but close enough

Oh wow! Spain is doing better than the other EU countries at something 🥹. This aligns with my anecdotal, personal experience. Wasting food in Spain is very frowned upon. Pretty normal in restaurants to be told (without asking!) that you've ordered too much and that you need to change your order 🤣

My favourite artist this year was Dutch! MEAU music.apple.com/es/album/een... I'm obsessed, love all songs and know many of them by heart. And I knew about her thanks to a playlist that @lucianghinda.com shared! I'll go see her next year for sure, maybe when/if she goes back to Antwerp ❤️🤞🏻

My favorite talk!! @jpcamara.com used Yjs and @anycable.io to build a collaborative text editor in a Rails app, and it was super fun trying it out live with other folks during his talk.

I had a small running motivation crisis this year when I just couldn't mentally run more than 8 or 9 kms together, coming from an injury and basically no long runs in 2024. This has made the end of the year rather thrilling for me 🤣 (as thrilling as totally arbitrary goals go, that is)
