frankly the community IMO needs to turn this into a call for better diversified funding and governance for rubycentral stuff, but not a burn down of everything. that’s just going to hurt us all. i have so many thoughts on this and how i personally feel at some decisions.

I read yesterday this post from @inazarova.bsky.social (evilmartians.com/chronicles/b...) and it made me realize that Rails already has a lot of extension points that can be used to expand the architecture of a Rails app. I agree we to explore alternative mental models beyond the "rails way"

Every large enough Rails app has extracted some services for performance and scalability reasons. You can do this without losing the joy of building with Ruby and Rails. Keep the recipes in Ruby, and only upgrade the "dumb" (unaware) kitchen tools. Here's how.
