Letās look at it another way: From 1986-2017, 87.7% of NIGMS MERIT awards went to men. From 2000-2017, 84.9% of NIGMS MERIT awards went to men. From 2007-2017, 80% of NIGMS MERIT awards went to men. These statistics overlap with a period when men were submitting ~2/3 of NIHgrants
