So far in 2026, 80% of big tech's power procurement has been fossil gas (a bit more if you go by gen) Desperation, ideology and material, deepening relationships between big tech and fossil fuels gets you the exact situation we have been warning about for years.

The answer here seems to privilege "traffic flow" over pedestrian safety and right of way. A pedestrian shouldn't have to wait for the "don't worry I won't kill you" wave. A driver seeing a crosswalk sign has lots of time to see if someone is waiting there.

In general I think we need climate journalists to talk about how far we are from meaningful decarbonization. I get why people have been in the habit of claiming any win as a win, but we're in it so deep now. We need serious reporting on how insufficient token corporate gestures are, not PR for them.

I think not enough people understand that the pushback against renewables and EV's is money. Without getting too in the weeds: renewables cannot ever be as profitable as oil and gas. EV's don't make as much money as gas guzzlers. That's it. That's all you really need to know.
