Julyan and Godbert Manderville first met eachother while on the search for the same quarry. They were both searching for mountain goats: she was trying to acquire its meat for a dish, while he was trying to acquire its horn (which he later made into a gift for her)

Before marrying Godbert Manderville, Julyan caught the eye of another suitor. However, Godbert's physical strength (that matched her own strength while enraged) as well as his passion for specialty jewelry persuaded her to choose him.
