New blog post describing an idea I’ve been kicking around called battery packs. Battery packs are a curated set of crates arranged around a common theme. Battery packs are meant to address one of the most common things I hear from new Rust adopters.

Pentesting looks so cool and then you get to do it and you discover the most powerful tool in your hacking toolbox is asking a few engineers at some manufacturer about where the known security problems are that management won't invest in getting fixed because they don't give a shit.

I love the Fish shell writeup on their Rewrite-it-in-Rust journey. It's really nuanced: there's some good, some bad, some introspection on their own mistakes. But most importantly: they did it! 2604 commits over ~two years of work across > 200 authors. Ship ship ship!
