I love the Fish shell writeup on their Rewrite-it-in-Rust journey. It's really nuanced: there's some good, some bad, some introspection on their own mistakes. But most importantly: they did it! 2604 commits over ~two years of work across > 200 authors. Ship ship ship!

Async closures went from (practically) unimplemented to stabilized (on nightly) in approximately a year. Hopefully they'll land fully stable in 1.85, and I hope they help solve some of your async problems.

Intel launched the Pentium processor in 1993. Unfortunately, dividing sometimes gave a slightly wrong answer, the famous FDIV bug. Replacing the faulty chips cost Intel $475 million. I reverse-engineered the circuitry and can explain the bug. 1/9

Hello new followers! I made my own computer. I designed the PCB and I wrote my own OS for it in Rust. It uses a Raspberry Pi Pico as the main CPU, and it plugs into a VGA monitor and a PS/2 keyboard. You can load programs off SD card too. There's only six left.
