for intellectual honesty’s sake, i found llms to be underwhelming for my work until mid-2025 (i called their output “slop”). i tried out the latest version of gemini and claude at the time, which still didn’t generate valid rust code at the time, but were pleasantly human refinable

at this point, i think i prefer `go generate` over build dot rs scripts. the latter are too annoying to parallelize and i think codegen is rare enough that being able to run it as an explicit step is worth it for faster/more reliable IDEs
