Nearly 1000 teachers, academics, and more are mounting an academic boycott of Columbia. Columbia "is colluding with the current U.S. government's project to destroy higher education and criminalize protest," they say. Signers include Noura Erakat, Marc Lamont Hill, Ruha Benjamin.

There needs to be a full academic boycott of Columbia. It's an institution not worth saving. No one should speak there, go there, or collaborate with academics there. Let it crumble into irrelevance.

This is absolutely disgraceful for any educational institution, let alone one that wields such power and resources. Of course, they’re businesses and integral to reinforcing the capitalist mode of production. Nonetheless, such naked capitulation to authoritarianism deserves universal scorn.
