In all fairness there have been conservative rhetorics of dissent since Vatican II and especially since Francis. These guys aren't struggling because the language isn't there - they're struggling because they suck at Catholicism

Everyone says the machine god is the one god in 40k that doesn't exist yet the idea that motion is the principle of being is far from ridiculous (ask Aquinas), and the universe is both rationally intelligible and has a proven eternal ideal component (ie all knowledge exists already)

Its easy to want to mock this but it is a legitimately great homage to the core point of 4'33", and the tension of sitting in ambient silence. It honestly works even better here because of the lead in, and the agitation in the performers.

Genuine question: why would you use AI to hallucinate your papers when you can just have a good time writing them normally? Like maybe I'm naive and I get the pressure to publish, but doing research is genuinely great and a privilege everyone works really hard for - so why ruin it for yourself?

I think this is really important, and I'm worried it's never going to filter into the mainstream: Finland is producing studies that their researchers claim cast doubt on gender affirming care for youth, but they hide the ways their idiosyncratic approach itself could be to blame.
