Ogre is the opening track to his magnificent album, Peasant. It's a series of songs from the perspective of medieval peasants, concerning their fears and their hopes in a wayward world they have little control over. The point of course, is it is a strikingly contemporary album.

can also run this backwards: we watched the development of mass incarceration, waves of repression of anti-police brutality protests, and a spiraling post 9/11 surveillance and detention apparatus. we shouldn't wonder how a president in 2025 could decide the guys with guns can do whatever they want
