a fun thing about cooking a lot is that you reach a point of "oh if someone picks up ingredient X then i can make entire meal Y" in this case, the only thing we don't always have on hand is celery & garlic shoots, so if one of us is at the grocery, they get both and boom that's a meal sorted

In Sweden, there are several local dishes called "stroganoff" that do not in any way resemble the stroganoff of my previous acquaintance. This one, Halloumi Stroganoff (the halloumi part is accurate) is essentially a red lentil stew. Hearty! Delicious! But...not technically stroganoff. We love it.

Took a crack at an espresso walnut cake for a birthday. Espresso génoise sponge, buttered toasted walnut and espresso icing filling and topping. I don't make a lot of cakes, so my decorating skills are pretty minimalist. Tasted good though!

Iggy is not a lap cat, but he is currently determined to be a foot cat. There was considerable heaving and torking required to get into position, but he managed it. Of course, I'm needing to get up to deal with laundry...
