I think I'm going to retrofit my last project, into this current one. It was a super smash physics inspired combat arena roguelike, where the audience chucked random weapons / items into the playing field that would break on use forcing the player to improvise without the drawbacks of durability

Added player cutouts to the shader. I don't know how this is typically handled, but gridmaps where walls have thickness have always tripped me up. They way I'm doing it here is disabling culling, cutting a hole, and rendering all backfaces black.

Crab. Found time to do a pass on the player model, modelled using CSG nodes and weighted with the armature plugin which I should push an update to later. It works best to weight a character separated into distinct parts, and choosing bones to ignore, added a dialog for which bones to include.

I sort of love how contentious Marathons art style is, I think it's definitely going for something interesting with the varied opinions I've seen. I personally think it's pretty dope and pulls from as much anime as it does cyberpunk.

Here's some work on that gamepad controlled 3D modeller I've been wanting to use on a steamdeck. I think the controls map pretty well, dpad/stick to make selections in screenspace, hold L2 to move a cursor to selection. There's a lot of functionality I need to port over

More than once after playing Link's Awakening, I thought thought about how the levels were built out and how faithful it was to the original and how the floor textures were done. Which is why I wanted to make this plugin noticing that it's actually just a 2D plane with autotiling.

I think of Angeline Era's character art as "gestural" vertex colors: big blocks of gradients and hard edges that loosely gesture at finer details. They are often seen very small on the screen, so it helps them not appear over-detailed. But I also think it looks beautiful up close!
