good character design

❓Ok so I'm aware of the existence of indie TTRPG, but don't know the scene. Does anyone have recs for good one-offs for a group of ~4 beginners? Something fairly action- or goal-oriented. I have a sense that some of the more open-ended/improv ones might be harder to get into for beginners?
