Honestly, I don't care what people seeking assistance at food banks do for a living, whether they work or not, what they drive, etc. People are hungry. Give them food to eat. Plain and simple.

Everyone deserves food, healthcare, housing and an education. They shouldn’t have to “prove they matter” to access basic support. They shouldn’t be forced to justify their “worth” to have a chance at survival. This shouldn’t be up for debate. We have enough to help everyone.

I think this is a perfect case study of how power tends to corrupt, and that systems have their own logic. Even the most well-intentioned agents erode their own consciences by following the logic of hierarchical systems, as with compromise after compromise, they will abandon their stated principles.
