If it isn't obvious by now, it should be: Trump doesn't do trade deals. He reaches temporarily stalemates where circumstances force him to climb down a bit, but which remain subject to sudden and erratic alteration whenever he feels he can get away with it, or just can't control himself anymore.

Our system thrives on ambition to “chase, build and improve”. It is undermined by ambition to cheat, bully, defraud, or exploit. Checks and balances are necessary to promote healthy ambition, and to thwart the latter.
