Worth noting that one reason you’re benefitting so fully from the Star-Tribune’s timely, extensive coverage of unfolding events is that it’s a metro newspaper that hasn’t been systematically starved to further enrich shareholders and executives.

You know what Congress can do: open its own investigation into Renee Good’s death and make its own referral to DOJ. And if the Republicans don’t want to do it, I think we know have 10 attorneys and 1 FBI agents perfectly willing to testify at shadow hearings held by the Democrats.

Two women trained as first responders were abducted by three ICE agents. One of the agents starts seizing. The other two don’t know what to do. The women jump into action and save the agent’s life, only to be re-handcuffed and processed.

Reality: Brewers fans who turn 21 in 2026 have seen their team make the playoffs nine times. They had good non-playoff teams to follow in five more seasons. They were 6, 13, and 20 when their team went to the NLCS. National writers: why don’t the Brewers care about winning?!?

The thing that's really sending me in the reaction to the Freddy trade is how this is some major blow to the Brewers chances to compete in the playoffs. You know, the Freddy who has a career 4.32 ERA and 4.70 FIP in 33 1/3 IP playoff innings? I love the guy, but he was no postseason stud.

The Brewers truly got their ass beat once in a recent postseason, and only then by a rotation literally nobody could have beaten in that series (the Blue Jays faced a lesser version later on, sorry if this offends), which team they had swept 6-0 that year. This narrative just doesn’t work.

Freddy is an all-time great Brewer and will be missed. I think the folks that follow the team more closely are handling this better because we just assumed it was going to happen all winter (and remember they already extended him once) and this return is probably better than expected.

I know the Brewers trading their best starter only making $8 million coming off a 97-win season is going to be a narrative here; it's not the reason the Brewers dealt him. The Brewers feel they gain plus value trading a guy with a year left. You can argue with the process, but it ain't a $$ thing.

I'm sure Mets fans don't care much about this right now, but... I'm finalizing the Top 100 and farm rankings and it works out that, by a tiny margin (i.e. subject to change), this trade takes the Mets farm system from #1 ranked to
#6...and
also moves the Brewers from #6 to #1.

There's the final deal. Pretty happy. Would have liked to keep Myers and see if we could turn him around, but I understand that Murph is out on him and so the opportunities probably weren't gonna be there.

They are not doing this because they don't want to pay the 8 million. They're doing this because the fact he's making 8 million in his last year makes him a valuable trade chip for them to continue to restock their supply of young talent. It's the
#Brewers
making the system work for them.

Owners slashing payroll while rebuilding is pretty standard stuff. I would be much more concerned about the apparent lack of investment on club infrastructure unless he’s turned over a new leaf on that side of things and I just didn’t hear about it.
