Settling in for our annual watching of The Hogfather. It is a great way to wrap up one of the best low-key holidays in many years.

I really like Mythic Bastionland, but the more I interact with the book the more irritated I get at so many little things. The layout and design looks amazing at first glance. In reality, it is a poor gimmick that actually makes the book frustrating to navigate and use.

I guess I should share the Christmas village Connie set up at home to counterpoint the one I set up at work yesterday. And, heck, I should get pictures of the laser cut buildings we created for our children's services department. So expect another round of pictures soonish.

Apparently the way to get my son to leave the house is to confuse wax paper for parchment paper when cooking at 425°F. I barely even notice the change in the air, but it is 46°F outside and he's outside sitting on the porch.

Am I just over board gaming? I sat down at game day to learn EARTH, and mid way through the explanation I realized nothing about the game interested me. Everything about it looked well made, but it seemed soulless and boring. Like steril corporate graphic design.

Its pretty stark to watch mass media focus the gerrymandering conflict on California -- despite it being in reaction to Texas. California is seeking voter approval, while Texas is coercing Democrats to provide a quorum. But California is the problem here.
