Went downstairs to check my mail and pickup a delivery. Headed back to the elevator where another resident (a woman) was waiting for the elevator. Naturally, this occurred since I haven’t shaved in a few days and look like Kaczynski’s stunt double. *sigh* Time for dinner and to eat my woes away.

I remember getting in trouble with my mother when she asked if it was a requirement that the various women in the comics I was reading wore very little clothing or outfits that looked painted on, and my response was “No, but it’s a nice bonus.”

Mail call: The piece of original Alex Toth art that I had purchased from Albert Moy. It was listed as “Page 212”. I like the variety of elements in this piece: a mixture of character study sketches, as well as a scene with dialogue occurring in the top right corner. A nice addition to my collection.

FedEx tracker shifted from “Between 10am-2pm” to now “Before 8pm”, even though the truck has been at various places near my apartment. Normally wouldn’t mind except the shipper put “signature confirmation” on the package and I don’t want things to get delayed. Wonderful.

Felt like buying a donut. Okay, I bought more than one donut. We all get our comforts in our own way.

A listing on Heritage for the original art for a 5-page Archie story by Dan DeCarlo that I had been bidding on ended with the final price (including buyer’s premium) of $4500. WTF?! These were going for a few hundred dollars last year. Frustrating shift in the market.

Understandable. What?

A friend was going to be having a movie night with their spouse and kids. His wife saw the description for “Watership Down” on MAX and thought it’d be a “delightful cartoon for the kids”. I advised against that, but I was told she knew better. Alrighty. Now I’m getting texted about the kids crying.

Some listen to light-hearted music to relax. For me, this sort of music helps give me an outlet. Go figure. Definitely needed.

Nothing like placing higher than usual bids on listings at Heritage and getting crushed within moments, to remind me I’m priced out in most auctions. Oh well. Buying art directly from artists and/or their reps is usually the better way to go.

Doing some grocery shopping to pick up a few small things. Saw this in the produce section. Yea, I’m juvenile.

Received a scam call that I let go to voicemail. They actually left a message wanting to discuss issues with my gas bill. Interesting considering that my apartment is all electric. Not today, Satan.
