If you blinked, you may have missed it. Hurricane #Erick made landfall on the Mexican coast as a major hurricane early Thursday. It broke records for so early in the season. 80 mph intensification in 24 hours and earliest landfall on the Pacific side of Mexico.

The summer of 1976 is repeatedly used by.. people.. to somehow discredit climate change or hot summer weather. Here are the global temperatures from 1976 compared with 2024. In 76, the UK was a warm anomaly on a much cooler planet. Today? The entire planet is warmer.
