It was gratifying to be awarded the @amia.org AMIA Academic Forum Health Informatics Educator of The Year Award at the Annual Symposium, but equally gratifying to be called out twice in Jim Cimino’s Year in Review session at the meeting.

This year marks my 40th consecutive #AMIA2025 fall meeting, dating back to SCAMC, and including the virtual meeting during the pandemic in 2020. Extra special this year is my daughter Alyssa attending, along with my grandson, and we will all be decked out in AMIA t-shirts!

There are many worse things the Trump Administration has done but this one hits close to home for me. One of the things that the US government does very well is create high-quality data sets and tools to use them. It is sad to lose these tremendous resources. apnews.com/article/cens...
