The Austin police department shot me in the chest with a less lethal round for trying to help a person off the ground during a protest. They fired tear gas at anti ICE protesters a few months ago. Do not be foolish enough to embrace them.

It was good to be yelling in a big group with lots of other people. Feeling connected to other people, strangers, friends, etc. Good stuff! Recommend it!

Take note of all these people turning out for protests in small towns in red states. Remember them the next time you’re inclined to write an area off because “they voted for this.”
