On a recent DS9 rewatch I realized that we never actually see Earth's orbital defenses, so I made this: the Defense Sphere. They have a crew of 10, impulse engines but no warp drive, and two phaser strips. They are designed to be simple to build and deployed in large numbers.

Animations I created whilst working for ILM (1994-1995) and Disney (1996-2008)…. I was animation supervisor for Casper, Aladar, Foxy Loxy and Penny. 🎥

I fast-forwarded through every single episode of the 1977-1982 The Incredible Hulk TV show. I can definitely say the twin Tucker tubes do not appear on the show (they do in the 1988 Return of the Incredible Hulk" TV film, though). So far, the earliest appearance is on Buck Rogers (March 1981).

That ship is more difficult to draw than you would think--it's not exactly intuitive how the ship would look in three dimensions. I created it for the #StarTrekAdventures TAS supplement. #TOSSatNight #TASatNight

Now with the greebles modeled, did my composition idea work? Maybe not-my initial much lower camera angle ended up having random greeble blocks jutting up and blocking/confusing the sense of where on the ship you were.
