Begging journalists not to report on crime trends like this. DC crime was already falling relative to 2024 prior to the federal intervention, so it comes as no surprise that it was also down during this stretch.

I left DC in mid February. One of the final nights I was packing up my apartment there were helicopters circling overhead and at 45yo I called my mom and asked her if she thought I was safe or needed to get out sooner. Her: why? Me: before there are military checkpoints. I lived on 14th street NW.
