This is my great uncle; Sapper Wallace Brown. He died from injuries sustained during the Second Battle of the Somme. Wallace passed away on the hospital/transport ship RMS Megantic returning home in the spring of 1919. He is buried in the local cemetery. I’ve known his story since I was a boy.
