A lot of people from far away from NY with no understanding of the history of corruption rampant within the LIRR unions are starting to chime in here, and while that's typical BlueSky, please do 3 minutes of internet research on the LIRR unions before you start accusing us all of union-breaking.

Today is Conrail day! 50 years on, Iโd suggest we remember its least credited legacy: the Northeast Corridor. Without the region-wide network planning exercise that created Conrail, the NEC would still be full of freightโas it was until the 70s. Since Conrail, that feat has never been repeated.

The first city I visited in Asia was the former Portuguese colony of Macau, now part of China (well, sort of). I had a layover to ride as much transit as possible, and what I found was a fascinating city with a ton of surprises!

This is my grandfather at work back in the 80s. He was a test pilot at Grumman starting from the LEM and continuing all the way up until the late 90s. You may know him from his work as the Apollo suit test dummy, or helping launch the Cradle of Aviation Museum on Long Island.

A neglectful landlord is a bad landlord. We won't accept that. We won a settlement. We monitored. We came back to check.
