Die 2. Keynote hält der an der Universität Osnabrück heimische Alexander Bergs @alexbergs.bsky.social mit einem Vortrag zu sprachlicher Kreativität aus konstruktionsgrammatischer Perspektive unter dem Titel „That’s so Mike Myers. Not. A few (random) thoughts on language and creativity“.

Für die 1. Keynote konnten wir Nathalie Bauer (Uni Münster) gewinnen. Sie ist interaktionale Linguistin & wird uns unter dem Titel „Zwischen Intersubjektivität und Progressivität: Interaktionale Perspektiven auf Empathie in medizinischen Gesprächen“ ihr abgeschlossenes Promotionsprojekt vorstellen.

Im zweiten Workshop bekommt ihr von Annika Schiefner von der Universiteit van Amsterdam eine kleine Einführung in die Statistik und erarbeitet gemeinsam konkrete Analyseansätze für eure Promotionsprojekte. Weitere Informationen dazu auf der Website: staps.stuts.eu/workshops-d/

We've had a very productive first day at the #dgkl2024 pre-conference workshop in our brand new Linguistics Lab, with Alex Lorson introducing us to different types of data and data wrangling with #R.

Helsinki #sle2024 and Gothenburg #iccg13 have been truly great and full of nice people and constructive conversations. See you next week at #dgkl2024 for more of that! 🥳

#dgkl2024 includes a pre-conf workshop featuring Alexandra Lorson! Before becoming assistant prof at the University of Groningen, she worked in the Making Numbers Meaningful project led by @bodowinter.bsky.social. Her research interests in experimental pragmatics focus on strategic communication.

Last but not least: Lotte Sommerer is our 5th plenary speaker! She is assistant prof of English Linguistics at the University of Freiburg & adopts a historical, functional-cognitive approach to CxG. She works on morphosyntactic variation & change in Modern, Middle & Old English. ⏳

The 4th plenary speaker at#dgkl2024 is Nik Gisborne, prof of Linguistics and English Language at the University of Edinburgh. He is interested in language change and has contributed substantially to Word Grammar. He is currently studying relative clauses in Indo-European languages.

The third plenary speaker at #dgkl2024 is @evfedorenko.bsky.social, who's coming all the way from MIT, where she is associate prof of neuroscience. Using a large variety of methods, she studies the way and the regions in which language is processed in the brain.

We're continuing our presentation of plenary speakers at #dgkl2024 with Osnabrück's very own Oliver Ehmer. He's full professor in Romance Linguistics and is currently investigating requests for action in interaction and language change in Spanish from a multimodal point of view. 💃🕺

This week we’ll be presenting the plenary speakers at #dgkl2024. We’re starting off with Bert Cappelle, associate prof of English Linguistics at the University of Lille. Adopting a usage-based approach, he has worked on various topics including locatives, modals and particle verbs. 💫
